To take an accurate reading, first position the green marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm.

Next, place your arm on a table so the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart.
Instructions for Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitors
There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this monitor. First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper arm, and sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Slide your left arm through the cuff and position the cuff approximately 0.5-inches above the elbow. On the cuff you'll notice a green marker; position this marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm. Next, secure the cuff with the Velcro material. The cuff should make direct contact with your skin, but you should be able to easily fit your index finger between the cuff and your arm.
Place your arm on a table so that the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart. Rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes prior to taking your blood pressure measurement. Once you feel relaxed, simply press the start button and remain still. The cuff will begin to inflate and numbers will appear on the display as the heart symbol flashes. When the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate. And remember, always consult your physician for specific information about your blood pressure.
What is IntelliSense?
The IntelliSense monitor inflates the cuff to the ideal level with each use -- you never have to make any adjustments to select an inflation level. This is especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders because their blood pressure is so likely to fluctuate. The biggest advantage of using the IntelliSense technology is a personalized inflation, every time, for maximum comfort.
The Importance of Home Blood Pressure Monitoring
Doctors, diabetes educators, physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals all recommend home blood pressure monitoring for various reasons. Home monitoring provides your healthcare professionals with better information to understand and manage your high blood pressure. Many types of hypertension can only be detected by monitoring your blood pressure at home, including:

  • White-Coat Hypertension: blood pressure reading is high in your doctor's office but lower at home
  • Masked Hypertension: blood pressure reading is low in doctor's office but higher at home
  • Morning Hypertension: blood pressure reading is higher in the morning
Additionally, many factors can affect your blood pressure, including physical exertion, emotional fluctuations, medications, and stress. So having your blood pressure monitored at a pharmacy with an in-store device after you've been shopping or walking around might not provide you with the most accurate measurement. Monitoring your blood pressure at home allows you achieve a relaxed state more easily, and it gives you the flexibility to take your measurements at various times during the day. By keeping track of your home blood pressure readings, you can provide your healthcare professional with a log of your measurements over time. This can help them evaluate the effectiveness or need for medication.

"good unit; wall wart generates lots of elf/emf" 2009-06-20
By Ottokrat (San Jose, CA)
This is a very good blood pressure unit, easy to use, comfortable. It never over inflates - other units occasionally decide to use a second reinflation cycle, which way over inflates and hurts.

The only complaint that I have with it is that the wall wart it comes with generates a huge amount of elf/emf (whether the unit is in use or not). So, I'd suggest keeping the wall wart (not necessarily the bp unit itself) at least 4 to 5 feet, maybe more, away from your head while sleeping. I have measured the wall wart that comes with the hem 780 to generate much less elf/emf. Unfortuneatly the 780 does occasionally overinflate, which I hate. Also, the 773 uses a separate on and off button from start, and the 780 uses only one button, a bit less user friendly.

Omron HEM-773AC Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor with Easy-Wrap Cuff and IntelliSense

Works GREAT! Needed the larger cuff for Husbands arm. No issues. The Doctor felt this was a good choice when I took to appointment to show him how I used it. It was on the money with what they got when checking my BP. So, we feel it is a very accurate unit. The cuff is tricky to wrap when doing yourself, but with practice gets easier.

"good price, good product" 2009-09-17
By T. Morgan
I read through a lot of reviews on these products before ordering mine. I had coupons from amazon.com, so I was able to save considerably, but didn't want to spend more on this than I had to. The doctor insisted I get a home monitor. I suffer white coat syndrome. My blood pressure always records high at the doctor's office. This monitor is easy to set up and easy to use. It also is accurate without having to have it set at the doctor's office as others have commented. I had no problem with this unit. It has confirmed that I do not have high blood pressure. I have been using it for 3 weeks now and it is consistent in its readings. I would recommend this to anyone. It's very simple to use and to care for. The arm cuff does tend to really tighten around your arm-no matter how loose you put it to begin with. But I guess it needs to do that to get an accurate reading-and I've had nurses almost cut off my circulation when taking a reading. I would highly recommend this unit for its price tag and ease of use.

This wrist blood pressure monitor is so easy to use. I have 2 arm cuff monitors and this is the best by far. I can take my pressure anywhere and it is quite accurate. I even talked a couple of other people into buying one as I thought it was so great. They like theirs as well.

"Hem-629 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor" 2010-02-01
By Robert G. Preston (Ohio)
The Hem-629 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor is as good as advertised. I'm very happy with this purchase. The monitor is fast, accurate, and easy to use. It comes with a portable carrying case for protection, easy storage, and transportation. It can store 60 readings to memory with time and date stamp. It also provides an average. One negetative thing is that I don't think it can separtely record the results for more than one.

"Don't be fooled, totally unreliable, look elsewhere" 2010-01-31
By Michael S. Oneill (Dallas, GA United States)
I read many reviews for this type of product & was convinced by one of them from a nurse. EVERY time I have tried this I get a different reading, even back to back readings. Talking to my doctor, he said that was totally possible. But when I told him the variance between readings, he said that there should not be that wide of a variance. Another disappointment is CLEARLY marked on the box: "STOP!! Please Read Before Opening: Due to the nature of this product, product that has been worn or used cannot be returned to the place of purchase." How are you supposed to try it without wearing it? It goes around your wrist, no bodily fluids contact it, what makes that non-returnable? Clothing that does not fit can be returned. This is the first time I have felt compelled enough to write a review on the countless number of things that I have purchased on Amazon.com, but I really feel like I have been sold a piece of junk!

"Nice Blood Pressue Monitor" 2010-01-21
By James P. Vanpelt (Akron, OH)
I have had this monitor for about a month now and I like it. It comes with a nice case and is easy to store beside my computer. I have compared the readings to other BP monitors and it is accurate. If you want convenience, I would recommend this monitor. I have a strong paulse so maybe that is why the readings are accurate. If you paulse is weak, perhaps it would not work quite as well but that is probably true for all electronic BP machines unless you purchase one of those expensive hospital kind. The numbers are easy to read and it also stores previous readings so you can go back and review you old reading.

"Does the Job; Memory Function a plus" 2009-12-04
By PRM
Once you get the knack of properly placing the cuff (I had the help of my father-in-law, a physician), this product provides fast blood pressure and pulse readings. The memory function is particularly useful for keeping track of blood pressure and pulse. I would rate it higher if not for the fact that machine is very sensitive to placement of cuff - a 1/4 inch to the left or right can produce significant differences in readings.

Omron HEM 629 Auto Inflate Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor

Product By Omron(29 customers reviews)
Lowest Price : $42.99

Product Description

OMRON 1255805 Omron Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor (EA)

Technical Details
  • 21 memory recall with date and time stamp
  • 2 "AAA" batteries included
  • Clinically proven accuracy
  • Carrying case included
  • 5 year warranty
Amazon.com Product Description

Wrist blood pressure monitors are portable, accurate and simple to use. They provide a convenient choice for those who want a second unit for away from home or who have trouble placing a cuff on their arm. The Omron HEM-629 Auto Inflate Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor uses Omron's patented IntelliSense technology, which inflates the wrist cuff to the ideal level with each use and offers fast, personalized, and automatic inflation for maximum comfort. No adjustments are required to select an inflation level--especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders, because their blood pressure is more likely to fluctuate. And with the HEM -629's 60-memory recall with date and time stamp, as well as averaging capabilities for the last three readings, you can track your blood pressure and pulse progress as your work towards a healthier lifestyle. You'll have additional peace of mind knowing that the HEM-629 comes with a 5-year warranty.
Because the HEM-629 has a wrist cuff, it is particularly helpful if you have a larger than average sized arm. The monitor fits those with a wrist size of 5.25 to 8.5 inches, and it ensures easier and more comfortable use. Note, however, that a wrist monitor does require proper positioning of the device at the heart level. It is critical that when using a blood pressure monitor the cuff is the appropriate size and is properly applied. An ill-fitting cuff or an incorrectly-applied cuff can result in inaccurate readings. Consult your doctor or the included instructions for the proper application of the cuff.
What's in the Box
HEM-629, 2 "AAA" batteries, carrying case, and user manual.

"Accurate and Great Value" 2010-01-05
By M. S. Thomasson (Seattle, WA)
I've had my 629 for three years. I've had it in my doctors office to compare against their equipment, at hospital, and at home with Home Health to compare to. My 629 is always within a point or so of the "professional" equipment it tested against. I trust it very much. In fact, I have caught the pro's with bad readings with my 629.

The 629 is durable and simple to use. I think the people that complain about bad readings are not using it correctly. Reading the directions always helps, and paying attention to how it is mounted on the wrist also. Sure can't go wrong on the price.....

"Pros and Cons - but I recommend something else" 2009-12-05
By Johnny Guitar (Carmichael, CA USA)
I have had this product for about 3 months. I returned the first one I owned (an arm unit) and tried this one because the first one was not inflating properly after about 2 weeks of use. This unit from Omron has some pros and cons, but overall, I'd recommend buying something else primarily because it just isn't very accurate or consistent in its readings. This is despite my being very careful to follow the provided instructions exactly and position the device on my arm the same, and the level of the device the same, each time.

Pros

- I find the wrist unit very convenient - much more so than the arm unit I tried before.

- Because it is small and fits in a case about 3"x4"x3", I have room to sit it on my bathroom vanity or even on a table in my living room and use it every single morning. The prior arm unit was bulky and awkward, and I felt like I had to "store" it daily which led to less consistent use.

- Its small size also makes it easy to take with me on business trips, and other travel.

Cons

- Readings are inaccurate - I try to get 3 consistent readings at each measurement session (by consistent I mean both systolic and diatolic don't vary more than 10 points each. It almost always takes 4-5 attempts, occasionally as many as 8-9. So this leaves me feeling like I can't trust the unit.

- When I measure 107/75 then 125/85 then 139/95 in the same sitting, while carefully positioning the unit, my body, and the unit relative to my body, it leaves me frustrated with the finiky nature of the product. And of course, those readings have very different meanings.

- Unit should error out when it is not reading correctly, rather than give false readings. It will do this in extreme cases but not in cases 20 points apart.

-That said, in general I find I can estimate in a 10 point range (like "130's" over 85-95) but it takes a lot of measurements.

- Lack of a data port to dump data to my PC. This feature should be standard on all medical measurement devices, in my opinion, including blood pressure monitors, glucose monitors, thermometers, etc etc etc.

Conclusion - if you want to see a general trend (up or down) in your blood pressure, this will probably allow you to do so if you take enough readings to get a good average measurement each day, and then track that and graph it over time. It is very convenient, but not very accurate or precise. I will keep mine for travel but am now shopping for a different unit for use most days. Its "ok" for the $70 I paid for it at a Rite aid. I saw it at $99 in another store. But if I had it to do over again, I'd buy something else.

"Best deal, and acceptable quality~" 2009-12-01
By S. Lin
Well, i bought two of this blood pressure moniter to my parents. They are working well, so far. Some suggestions are as following. i wish the manufacturer will see the suggestions.

1, the battery cap is very hard to open. not complain, but you really need a sharp nail to dip it up.

2, a little confuse if you do not read the manual before first time using. you do not know how to set up the the monitor. actually, it needs two times of reboot to begining its original working.
3, very easy to scratch the LCD surface.
Overall, it is a good deal~

"bp monitor" 2009-10-26
By Thomas J. Tyrrell (Teaneck, New Jersey)
Very easy to use. You just put it in place and push a button. It inflates and deflates automatically. My doctor wants my bp readings every other day so the memory storage is another excellent feature. I just bring it to his office and he can see the readings for himself. I would recommend this product.

wanted a record for a couple weeks. I found this unit online and I can tell you it works great.I need the large cuff but there are smaller cuff models also.Works well and is very simple to use. Get one of these and put your mind at ease.Monitoring is very important and I am very pleased with my Omron and it was very reasonable also.

"Takes Getting Used To" 2010-01-17
By Judi Copeland (Nashville, TN USA)
I am a fan of the wrist cuff. Mind you, the wrist cuff was giving me accurate readings in comparison to the doctor's, The wrist cuff was easy to carry and get a fast reading, record it, and in about a minute I was on my way. It was only because I got a seriously high reading from my wrist cuff (220/180) that sent me to the ER. When I got there, they took it on their monitor and said it was normal and released me, but told me to follow up with my doctor and told me wrist cuffs were not accurate, dismissing me even though I told them my BP does fluctuate wildly. I took another reading in the car on the way home and it was outrageously high again. I saw my doctor the next day and measured it once again against my wrist cuff, and it was still accurate, but also recommended an arm cuff to be sure.

I thought it couldn't hurt to have both, besides the American Heart Association recommends the arm cuff over the accuracy of a wrist cuff, and if the ER people were so quick to dismiss me, I looked around for a blood pressure monitor for a large arm. I found the Omron HEM-712CLC Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor with Large Cuff.

Initially, it was frustrating to figure out. Aside from the instinctive things you could figure out on your own like where the batteries go, how to plug it in and where to stick the tube to the monitor, everything else was not so obvious.

The instruction book, the one most people would think of what to read first, showed how to use the normal cuff version which in no way resembled the large cuff. Fortunately, I found the little paper which showed mini directions on how to use the large cuff version.

The large cuff is big and cumbersome. There is a gray arrow pointing down where it should be aligned with your middle finger. At the same time, you have to wrap the cuff from under the metal band and hold it firmly in place and use the velcro to secure it. It says to use it on your left arm, which works only if you are right handed, even if you were, it takes many, many attempts to do this by yourself. I had to call my husband to help me put it on. Even when we followed the directions to a T, I sat very still for up to 3 minutes at times, trying to get a reading instead of E. After 13 attempts, I finally got a reading which was very high, I think because of the frustration.
wanted to give this another chance. The next day I used it on my right arm. It was easier for me to maneuver it, but still more cumbersome than I liked. Like the night before, it took over 10 attempts to get a reading according to directions. I wanted to give it one more chance. The next day, I was reclined in my bed, right arm out straight, arrow aligned correctly, holding the cuff in place with my chin while using my left hand to get the velcro in place. Finally, a reading on my first try! I did it in this method for the next few days and then took it to my doctor where the reading in this manner was accurate.
After getting used to finding a way to make this thing work for me (and I realize it is not according to directions and what works for me may not work for others), I think this is an okay product if you want readings at home at specific times of day. I use this for first thing in the morning and just before bed. I use my wrist cuff when I am on the go and feel the warning signs that I may be creeping into dangerous BP levels. You simply cannot take this large cuff on the go. That would be too much of a hassle.
For what it's worth, the cuff does what it is supposed to do if you can figure out how to use it. It is not the easiest thing in the world to get used to, but once you do, it's going to give you a good reading and record it. There is a function to take a few readings and get an average reading. My favorite feature is the one that can for irregular heartbeats. I have complained about having heart palpitations to my doctor before who wrote it off as anxiety attacks because he could not detect such a thing when I got to his office. This cuff finally put to rest the state of my sanity by proving I was really having irregular heartbeats. For that feature alone, I like this cuff. Everything else about it, meh!

"OMRON 712CLC is EXCELLENT!" 2009-10-23
By St Nich (Jacksonville, Fl. USA)
I had to old original OMRON 712 and was shocked that they still had the same stock number. I thought the other one was easy to use and when the cuff finally failed, I tried to buy a new cuff, only to find that the entire machine was cheaper than a cuff. But the new meter is even easier to use and keeps the recent BP checks in memory so you can compare your last several. The cuff is much better than the old one but then, the old one was probably ten years old or more..... Now I can check my blood pressure when I get too excited while surfing on [...] , the world's largest Western Movie Superstore!

Amazon.com Product Description

Taking your blood pressure is easy with the lightweight and convenient Omron HEM-432C Manual Inflation Blood Pressure Monitor . This monitor comes equipped with a standard adult-sized cuff that fits arms nine-to-13 inches in circumference. Simply wrap the cuff around your arm and squeeze the bulb to begin inflation. In a few seconds your blood pressure and pulse readings are displayed on the large digital panel. Omron's monitors are clinically proven for accuracy so you can use the HEM-432C to track your blood pressure and pulse progress as your work towards a healthier lifestyle.

The Omron HEM-432C delivers accurate, clinically-proven blood pressure readings in the comfort of your own home.

To take an accurate reading, first position the marker so it is centered on the inside of your arm and aligned with your middle finger.

Next, place your arm on a table so the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart.
Instructions for Manual Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitors
There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this monitor. First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper arm, and sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Slide your left arm through the cuff and position the cuff approximately 0.5-inches above the elbow. On the cuff you'll notice a blue marker; position this marker so it is centered on the inside of your arm and aligned with your middle finger. Next, secure the cuff with the closure strip.
Once you feel relaxed, begin inflating the cuff by rapidly squeezing the inflation bulb until you have reached approximately 30-40 mmHg higher than your normal systolic reading. If your normal systolic blood pressure reading is unknown, inflate the cuff to 180 mmHg (never inflate higher than 299 mmHg). When the desired pressure has been achieved, release the inflation bulb. Once inflation stops, the measurement is started. As the cuff deflates, decreasing numbers will appear on the display. When the measurement is complete the Heartbeat symbol stops flashing and your blood pressure and pulse rates are displayed on the screen. And remember, always consult your physician for specific information about your blood pressure.

"blood pressure monitor" 2010-03-24By Priscilla Hopkins Geer (Old Saybrook, CT)
Excellent product, recommended by doctor. Took it to doctor today to have it calibrated and it agreed with his monitor. The only thing I would change is to have spent the additional money for the automatic inflatable cuff.

"Difficult to use!" 2010-03-13
By J. Bartels (Lincoln, NE United States)
The product description stated, "Manual blood pressure monitor is the simplest way to take blood pressure readings at home." So I did not get the self inflating model. I pump the bulb as stated in the directions (I follow the directions exactly). It takes many attempts before I get a reading. And I wait the required time before a new attempt. Even though I do exactly the same thing sometimes I get a EE (underinflated) and sometimes I get an E (overinflated). By the time I get a reading I don't know if I have high blood pressure because I have high blood pressure or because I am totally frustrated.

"Accurate Monitor" 2010-02-23
By Pauline M. Frampton (Bountiful, Utah)
At first I had a few problems getting a reading because the instructions were not as clear as they could have been. Once I got it figured out, I have liked using the monitor. Obviously the automatic one would be better, but this was in my price range.

This is the second united I've bought from Amazon--terrific monitor, dependable and reliable. Used the first one for over 2 year.

"Easy and accurate" 2010-01-14
By TucsonShopper (Tucson, Arizona)
Why pay more (and I paid but seven bills here for new, really)? Manual bulb EASY to use and very accurate with storage (more so, than one-time doctor's office visit during which you, perhaps, got angry over long wait).

This product is fabulous...our doctor thought it was the best he had seen to date! Great for men/women/children..buy it! Great Price!

"excellent and convenient product" 2010-02-21
By Deb (raleigh, nc)
Couldn't ask for more! 2 different size cuffs, perfect for multi-person household. I've had this for over six months, have no complaints. Even took it to the Dr's office to compare the reading and it was almost identical. It was a great price for a terrific product, that due to health issues, I really needed. My doctor had recommended I buy a bp monitor and was pleased with the choice. You have to care for your health and this is a great help. I can't imagine anyone being unhappy with it, unless it was a true factory defect, which happens on occassion with any product. I would recommend it to anyone needing to keep track of their BP.

"Easy to use, accurate" 2010-02-15
By E. Jones (Brooklyn, NY USA)
This monitor couldn't be easier or faster to use, and seems to be completely accurate (when compared with the one in my doctor's office). I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it highly.

"Worth the price to own your own cuff" 2010-01-30
By YoYo's Mom (Alaska)
My husband has high blood pressure and wanted to be proactive. We bought this cuff based on a consumer purhasing report from a major magazine. the ladies style isn't so tight fitting as the males, doesn't fill up with such strength that it feels like your arm is going to fall off. We both can use it. Great value! Sturdy and easy to travel with!

"Almost perfect" 2010-01-28
By robgman (Anacortes, WA)
First off, don't let the word "Womens" in the name of this product fool you. It includes two different size arm cuffs and I guess Omron was thinking that with the larger cuff it would be beneficial for pregnant women.

This is our second Omron BP Monitor. The first was a Hem-711. I learned it was reading high. When I first ordered this new monitor it too measured high. I checked it against the BP reading at the local fire department, emergency room, and automatic bp machine at a local drug store. I sent the first one back and got a replacement and the new one seems to be spot on accurate. I learned that my old Omron was consistently giving inaccurately high readings. I chose this particular unit because it's, at the time of this writing, the highest rated one by Consumer Reports.

It's got a nice feature in that it will maintain the last eighty-eight BP readings and provide an average. The one flaw is that it will only do this for one person. I think a large majority of households that have a BP monitor need to use it for at least two people. It would have been nice if this had an option to program for at least two different people. Instead, it has a "guest option" this allows for another person to get a reading and it won't affect the average BP readings of the primary user.

It comes with a very handy little case and thus would be easy to pack for travel. If Omron would have allowed programming for multiple (at least two) users so the memory in the unit will remember two sets of averages then this would be pretty much the perfect machine for us. Accordingly, one of us has to maintain a daily record of our readings manually to get a good idea of our average BP. This is not too big of a hassle but if you're into modern technology, as I am, then, unless you're single, you'll likely feel the same way, especially if your spouse too is into modern technology. Then it's "who has to be the 'Guest' and maintain their own records?"

Amazon.com Product Description

Wrist blood pressure monitors are portable, accurate and simple to use. They provide a convenient choice for those who want a second unit for away from home or who have trouble placing a cuff on their arm. The Omron HEM-670IT Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor uses Omron's patented IntelliSense technology, which inflates the wrist cuff to the ideal level with each use and offers fast, personalized, and automatic inflation for maximum comfort. No adjustments are required to select an inflation level--especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders, because their blood pressure is more likely to fluctuate. And with the HEM-670IT's 100-memory recall with date and time stamp, as well as averaging capabilities for the last three readings, you can track your blood pressure and pulse progress as your work towards a healthier lifestyle. The HEM-670IT also features a system that detects an irregular heartbeat as well as morning hypertension, giving you an even better understanding of your heart's health. A built-in hypertension indicator lets you know if your readings indicate a high-blood pressure condition. Plus, you'll have additional peace of mind knowing that the HEM-670IT comes with a 5-year warranty.
Because the HEM-670IT has a wrist cuff, it is particularly helpful if you have a larger than average sized arm. The monitor fits those with a wrist size of 5.25 to 8.5 inches, and it ensures easier and more comfortable use. Note, however, that a wrist monitor does require proper positioning of the device at the heart level. Correct cuff positioning is critical when monitoring blood pressure, fortunately, the HEM-670IT features an advanced positioning sensor that automatically confirms that the cuff is level with the user's heart, thereby ensuring an accurate reading.
It is critical that when using a blood pressure monitor the cuff is the appropriate size and is properly applied. An ill-fitting cuff or an incorrectly-applied cuff can result in inaccurate readings. Consult your doctor or the included instructions for the proper application of the cuff.

Take your health to the next level with the included Omron Health Management Software. You can also view your most common values and identify variations by time frame with the frequency distribution graph. The software is simple to use, and it supports multiple users. This monitor is wildly inconsistent. I compared it a number of times with on-site blood pressure monitors, and it was never even close. It was always way high or way low, while the on-site blood pressure monitors were always within a few points of one another.

By Eillib/R & the Triplet's Grandma (California)
Been using this one for over a year now. I had an earlier version that did not download the data to the computer. I replaced it with this one and gave my old one to my husband. Once he saw what the new one did, he wanted one too. (The old one was passed along to a relative).

The device seems to be pretty accurate, but I have had an infrequent oddball reading. I have taken it to doctor's offices and it seems to be right on the mark.

The charts are an easy way for doctor's to quickly scan the data, much easier than looking at all the raw data points.

My one complaint is with the software - wish it had more options for displaying data. Supposedly there is a way to ignore certain data points, but for me, it only works when printing out raw data and not on charts. (i.e. If I have taken three readings in a few minutes time, I would like only one reading to count, not all three.) Using all three skews the results. There is a way to set the unit so that it will average several readings taken within a short period of time.

I do enjoy not spending the evening before a doctor's appointment entering by hand all of my blood pressure readings. The unit is sturdy - it has taken lots of abuse from me. Batteries are easily replaced.

 "So far, so good" 2010-03-02
By Connie Gallant (SEATTLE, WA USA)
I've had this monitor for 2 weeks, checking my blood pressure twice daily (morning/evenings) and I find it is very accurate. I took it to my doctor's office to compare it with the office's arm cuff monitor and it was right on. The previous Omron monitor I owned (no longer being made) was not accurate at all, much to my dismay after I had it checked.

This monitor is very easy to understand and use. My only disappointment with it was when I installed the software to my computer, I noticed that the readings/memory can only be saved for 1 person at a time, not 2 (like the more expensive arm cuff monitor). Thus, if I want my husband to monitor his blood pressure so that we can keep track of it, we'd have to take turns every other week and select his name instead of mine when downloading information from monitor. For historical tracking, we can save the weekly download files on a .csv format for each one of us.

Both monitor and software are easy to use. I would recommend this monitor to my family and friends.
