LifeSource UA-704VL Mini Manual Inflate Blood Pressure Monitor with Large Cuff

Product By LifeSource(23 customers reviews)
Lowest Price : $26.04

Product Description

The UA-704L Mini Manual Inflate is an innovative monitor that incorporates digital blood pressure technology and advanced features in a small, compact design. This monitor has been clinically validated for accuracy (+/- 3mmHg and Pulse +/- 5%), so you can be confident that your readings are consistently correct. The measurement range is 20 mmHg to 280 mmHg and Pulse: 40 to 200 pulses/minute. Included with this hand-held monitor is the A&D Medical Irregular Heartbeat feature that alerts the user and provides an accurate measurement even when an irregular heartbeat occurs. A manual inflate monitor offers an economical solution to those who need an accurate way to monitor their blood pressure, but without the expense of an automatic inflate unit. In addition, this energy efficient monitor can perform approximately 2,000 measurements with just one "AA" battery (included). To obtain an accurate reading, it is important to use the correct cuff size. A cuff that is too small will result in a higher than expected reading and a cuff that is too large will result in a lower than expected reading. The UA-704VL contains a latex-free bulb and a large arm cuff size which has a range of 11.8" to 17.7". Also included are a trilingual instruction manual, quick start card, four week blood pressure logbook and warranty card. Both the monitor and the cuff contain a Lifetime warranty and is supported by a consumer friendly Customer Service Dept. which can be contacted at 1-888-726-9966.

"Unreliable, painful product" 2010-08-15
By Regular Guy
I've used this product about a dozen times. It is painful to use because the pressure ticks down 1 point at a time and it takes minutes to get a reading. My arm tingles and I usually have a headache afterward. On several occasions it has failed to even give me a reading. I would not recommend this product.

"Simple and easy to use BP monitor." 2010-07-11
By John S. (Bethlehem, PA USA)
After using this BP monitor for a month, I am very satisfied. It is very easy to use. The readings seem consistent and I assume accurate. It take little effort to inflate the cuff. And it requires only one AA battery, which will save me many $$$ compared to the one I just replaced.

"LifeSource UA-704V Blood pressure monitor" 2010-07-03
By Eldon Cain
This has been a great purchase! The cuff is convenient and easy to use. I have owned the product for about one month now and have been impressed with the apparent durability and quality. The one feature that I especially appreciate is the manual inflation. Other cuffs with automatic inflate would seem to be constantly needing batteries. This model has batteries provided for the digital display and comes with a lifetime warranty. It is a great value and as a nurse I would highly recommend it!

"Didn't work!" 2010-05-26
By Harriet E. Kelly (New York)
Ordered this monitor to check my husband's BP every day, on doctor's orders. Simply didn't work. I had the feeling it was a returned item as the components were very sloppily wrapped and stuffed into the box. I could not get it to work - kept saying ERR. Had the visiting nurse try it and she also had no success.
Returned it to Amazon the next day.

"Learn from my mistakes" 2010-08-01
By David H. Hanneman (Louisiana)
I bought the LifeSource UA-853LAC Premium Digital Blood Pressure Monitor to help check my wife's blood pressure. When I ordered the Monitor, I was reading that the cuff was for arms of a certain diameter, so I ordered this small Lifesource cuff, figuring that was what I needed. The Monitor and Cuff both arrived, and sure enough, the Large cuff would not work on my wife - I tried a bunch of different times with no luck. (It worked just fine on my big old arm though.) No problem, I swapped out the big cuff with the small cuff and ran into more problems. The small cuff would not give a reading when on my wife's arm; either that or it would overinflate, and give an error. I tried numerous times in different positions on her arm (even her wrist), and also tried the original hose from the larg cuff, the different adapters, etc, but could not get the small cuff to work.
Perhaps if I worked in a Medical device repair/calibration shop I might have been able to figure out what was wrong.
LESSON 1: Do NOT buy a replacement cuff of a different size. You're better off buying a monitor with the correct cuff already on it.
LESSON 2: If you do purchase a monitor or cuff, open it and keep all packaging handy for a few days in case you need to return it. Unfortunately, I had tested the monitor on my arm, but didn't try the cuff until the next day - by which time I had already thrown away the boxes, wrapping, etc.

Works well but wish it had spring steel cuff in it to help get it on. Must for large arm.

"good value" 2010-01-19
By Erin Palmer (portland, or)
This blood pressure cuff is very good quality and is well-priced at Amazon. I originally had a small cuff but needed to size up.

"Measure carefully...get the right cuff" 2009-10-01
By Joel E. Wischkaemper (Hagerstown, MD)
I was border line. I began with a large cuff, and then got this cuff, and my BP readings started agreeing with the $1,000 modles down at the doctors office.

"Doesn't fit my blood pressure outfit." 2009-09-08
By Dale E. Marxen (Zagreb, Croatia)
This item will not replace the one that wore out on my blood pressure monitor. I should have looked more carefully before ordering it, and I would recommend the same. Otherwise, I think it would have worked well, but I wasted my money on it as I live in Croatia, and returning it to Amazon would not be worth the price.

"THANK THE LORD" 2010-07-21
By Praises
It is only by God's guidance and direction that LifeSource UA-767PLAC Blood Pressure Monitor was my choice. It has been working wonderfully and is a great help to me. I have used several BP Monitors in the past, but thank the Lord that He directed me to this one, because it is the best so far. I would recommend it to anyone.

"Good product but short leash" 2010-06-13
By C. W. Phillips (Ormond Beach FL USA)
My old blood pressure tester was battery operated, and shortly after I sprang for a plug-in power supply it died. The reason I purchased this one was it had decent reviews and came with a power cube. I like this product. It seems to be accurate, although I don't have a way to confirm that. The only negative I've found so far is the hose is too short. You have to place the unit pretty close to where you are sitting. Another few inches would be helpful and cost pennies.

"Excellent unit at a better price" 2010-04-11
By mukadzi (East Lansing, MI United States)
This unit had high reviews at a number of sources and we've not been disappointed. Amazon price was 50% less than we found for same unit at medical supply stores - and those didn't include an AC adapter. Readings were confirmed accurate by doctor.

"It works" 2009-12-07
By Klaus
The product description given by Amazon for the medium sized cuff is wrong. It states "The UA-767PV includes a medium arm cuff size which has a range of 7.5" to 12.2". If you look up the description for LifeSource UA-280 Blood Pressure Monitor Cuff, that product description actually says Medium (9.4" - 14.2"). 9.4" - 14.2" is the correct size of the cuff that comes when you order the UA-767 monitor with medium cuff.

"Good home product" 2010-05-23
By Sue from Brookfield (Brookfield, WI USA)
I purchased this for me and my husband to use if we felt ill; he was on BP meds at the time. It's easy to use and has memory settings for 2 people. I took it to the doctor's office and we compared readings so we're all set to monitor ourselves at home. I like the monitor a lot, easy to use... small and stores easily... gives us some basic information when it may be important.

"Readings only accurate when you read directions" 2010-04-08
By S. Malinowski (Bennington, VT USA)
After many high readings I read the instructions about arm placement at the level of the heart. Problem solved. Remember when a Dr does it, it is always at heart level (upper arm).

It is easy to use. I can easily read the big numbers without my glasses. Also, I just take my cuff with its historical readings to my doctor visits to see if we need to adjust my medicine.

How it Works
The DFT (Digital Filter Technology) uses a sensor to detect and isolate only the essential pulse oscillation, which helps eliminate other noise factors and leads to quick and reliable measurements. This also helps avoid over-tightening of the cuff. The monitor lights up if you are moving during a reading, alerting you to the fact that your reading will not proceed unless you stop moving. "BP monitor" 2010-05-08
By D. J. Wilson (Redding, CA)
I purchased this for my son to monitor his BP per his Dr. order. After he finally read the directions, he had no problem using it. At $32.31, it was cheaper than just a BP cuff (without stethescope) at my local pharmacy/medical supply. It also has a 5 year warranty which is unusual for this type of product.

"Great, if you don't have low heart rate..." 2010-04-22
By Heart-Aware (Phoenix, AZ)
My heart rate when I had extremely high blood pressure was 180/95 consistently with a pulse of about 85-90 and a resting heart rate of about 65. The device was accurate when my heart rate was up in "normal" zones. After about 6 or 7 months, of being put on beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors to lower blood pressure. My heart rate become 50-60 range and my blood pressure was 135/85 consistently with a resting heart rate of about 45. I would take my BP every morning. As my heart rate started to reach the low 50s and below, it would CONSISTENTLY give an Irregular Heartbeat warning on EVERY time I used it. However, if my heart rate was EVER above 55ish during the day, it would never give this indicator. I tested this several times, several times a day. This device has caused nothing but anxiety for me as I did countless visits to the ER and family doctor and countless EKGs to determine if I had something wrong with my heart (other than my high BP obviously) everything came back normal. I've tried a couple other blood pressure machines that have Irregular Heartrate monitors and NONE of them have ever thrown a warning, even when my heartrate is 42-49 resting (early morning). This device originally cost me $103.00, but after all the hospital bill and doctor co-pays, it ended up costing about $3000.00. If you have a low resting heart rate or low heart rate ingeneral, DO NOT use this product, unless you can live with the Irregular Heartbeat warning showing up on each reading.

"Dissatisfied Customer" 2009-08-19
By Barbara A. Davis (Dallas)
Originally purchased unit that advertised the unit came with a data computer cord and software or download software. Unit arrived without advertised cord or instruction to dowload and without disk. Upon complainimg the Livamed send me a male cord to fit a male attachment and charged me an extra 22 dollars and change for whaat it originally said it was included. I fell ripped off and had to make an ajustment to the machine to make the cord work and upload to my computer. Make suee that you get what you pay for from this company. Their wording has change somewhat since receiving the unit but still advise caution.

"Irregular Heartbeat" 2009-01-05
By E. T. Lipscomb (San Diego, CA)
Microlife 3AC1-PC
I have Atrial-Fibrillation, the irregular heartbeat feature plus pressure and pulse rate measurement indicated a very low blood pressure and a pulse rate of 176. The monitor in the ambulance yielded the same results. Shock therapy given at the hospital restored a normal pressure and pulse. When I purchased the item I was mainly interested in the three measurement accuracy. Had a heart attack after purchasing it, Atrial-Fibrillation occurred after the attack, this caused me to appreciate the irregular heart beat capability

"Decent device, terrible software." 2008-12-21
By J. Schneebaum (Third Rock)
I really like this device. The integration with HealthVault is great but the software is very buggy and difficult to use.
