The UA-787EJ Quick Response monitor blends digital blood pressure technology and advanced features with simple functionality. This monitor offers memory, time and date feature and more with the simple push of a button. The EA-787EJ stores the last 60 readings in memory and also displays average readings. In addition, the Quick Response offers a time and date function, which indicates when a measurement was taken. Users can also program three alarms per day to remind them when to take a reading. Included with this monitor is the Easy-Fit¿ Cuff, an innovative cuff that instantly fits your arm. It has been specifically designed to fit most arms (9-17") and provides the highest level of comfort and accurate readings. The UA-787EJ also offers two innovative features, the Pressure Rating Indicator¿ and Irregular Heartbeat feature. The Pressure Rating Indicator provides a snapshot of your blood pressure classification based on your measurements and eliminates the guesswork on what your blood pressure measurements mean. Also included is an irregular Heartbeat Feature that alerts the user and provides an accurate measurement even when an Irregular Heartbeat occurs. The device is very convenient in that it takes the BP fast and efficiently, along with the pulse rate. The ability to use both a wall jack, or batteries is a great feature. The only downfall I have noticed is that the readings tend to be slightly low, but not enough to deter me from using the product. Overall, a great item.

The reason I rated this at "3" is because of the easy-fit cuff. It's not that easy...it has a piece of curved plastic built into it to make it easier to wrap around your arm, I guess. However, I find it more difficult. I have the regular fit cuff that comes with the package, which is normally the size I use. But the built-in plastic piece does not bend that easily, so getting the cuff to wrap and secure is a little more difficult/requires more patience. I would think people with arthritus in their hands/fingers would find this even more of a problem.

I purchased this monitor for 2 older patients (70's-80's) that have no medical knowledge at all. They found it to be very easy to use. The cuff was comfortable, the numbers were big enough to read without glasses, and it comes with an AC adapter. It seems that a lot of people like to be able to use the monitor without having to buy batteries. I would recommend it to anyone.

How it Works
The DFT (Digital Filter Technology) uses a sensor to detect and isolate only the essential pulse oscillation, which helps eliminate other noise factors and leads to quick and reliable measurements. This also helps avoid over-tightening of the cuff. The monitor lights up if you are moving during a reading, alerting you to the fact that your reading will not proceed unless you become still. The Color Confirmation System
Thanks to the color confirmation system, it's easy to read and interpret your results. The monitor uses a three color light system to indicate if your reading falls in the hypertension, pre-hypertension or normal range. I was a little suspicious about purchasing this monitor because of the low price, but after using it was definitely impressed. Its accurate, self inflates, so no unncessary pressure on the arm and stores the readings after use. Would advise anyone who wants a quality product to purchase this.

I got this for my dad,who is a doctor himself.He had trouble monitoring his own Bood pressure with old fashioned Mercury minitors which he firmly believes in.This unit is easy to use,has memory and is easily the cheapest of the lot.The display is big enough to read and readings seem accurate.All in all,a good unit to have

I took this to my doctor's office to verify the accuracy, and it was accurate to his satisfaction. He hadn't seen this model before, and was impressed by the size and portability of it. He also told me that I needed a bigger cuff (which I then ordered, also from Amazon).

Since the bigger cuff will work just as well as the smaller one, for smaller people, why not just supply the bigger one? Or sell Monitor + small cuff; Monitor + big cuff; as separate products?

Also, the cuff says the bottom should be an inch above the elbow, but it is hard to fit it there. The cuff is so tall that it is up against my shoulder while still down close on the elbow. But it still gives accurate readings.

Seems accurate - better than the more compact one I had. I like the large read outs and the bag for storage/travel. It might be a little large for travel but given it has an arm cuff instead of something like a finger read, I expect it to take a little more space.
