There is no telling if you ever get a correct reading. Sometimes it reads 60/70 and a few minutes later 116/86???

"Flighty accuracy compared to A & D upper arm models" 2009-10-09
By William D. McCabe Jr. (Portland, OR USA)
Well made and documented. But not accurate enough for me, so I donated to Goodwill. Am nut on BP monitors and have gone through many over past few years. Went to A&D brand based on experience with several models that were always close to what got the traditional way at doc's office. Wanted wrist model to use at gym, but gave up when readings varied from close to same, to 20 percent higher than my current A&D upper arm model, with no apparent reason for the variation. Pulse rate was always close to upper arm model reading, however. Placement of cuff relative to wrist was touchy, to say the least, and had a major effect on reading got,but again, I could not see a consistency of reading versus cuff placement. I recommend the upper arm models. I have had several A&D models and all worked fine and were close to my doctor's mercury tube model's readings. I choose based upon features I want.

"Failure of Microlife Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor" 2010-02-11
By Grace Stewart (Eugene, OR)
Several years ago I bought this product from Hammacher Schlemmer. It was excellent until the beginning of this year when it would start the process and then suddenly fail and show an x mid-screen. NO blood pressure reading. I replaced the batteries, of course. Still it failed. Went to Amazon.com and found the same model, about $20 less than the earlier price. Ordered and received it. Now, just a few weeks after I began using it, it is already showing the x mid-screen and failing. This means I have to dig out the purchase records and return it to Hammacher Schlemmer, who, in their most recent catalog have a NEWER version that is much more expensive! I'm 89, do NOT enjoy this process one bit. DISAPPOINTED! is a mild word for it....

"No problems so far." 2010-01-19

No problems so far. I haven't used the software yet and I don't think I really need it anyway.

"Fails to connect to PC 90% of the time." 2009-07-14
By Tina (CA)
USB driver very poor. Multiple tries needed to connect, then, if you are very lucky, it will connect. Bought unit in 2008. Complained to customer service about lousy USB software support. Got a run-around. Now, over 6 months later, no driver upgrades or any software upgrades online. One work-around: export patient history. Reinstall everything from scratch including USB driver and maybe you'll get a connection. If so, then re-import patient data and proceed to update from BP monitor - if you are very lucky! I tell you, this terrible software will GIVE you high blood pressure. Totally clunky and behind the times. Would not be acceptable in non-critical toys such as the cheapest digital camera which can typically easily move photos from camera memory to PC via USB. But this so-called medical device can't even do that! Conclusion: the manufacturer doesn't care about user friendliness. That the cuff gives an accurate reading is pretty cold comfort if you can't get the data off the cuff and into the PC for analysis. I am sorry I bought the thing... May I suggest you avoid it if you want to put the data on your PC for historical analysis. Better spend $20 for the old-fashioned BP cuff and write the readings on a yellow pad... Less aggravation.

"Nice idea, but reads too high." 2009-02-07
By Mike Magliane
I was looking forward to the convenience of this wrist unit, and the ability to download scores, but I found it reads too high consistently. Microlife even replaced it quickly with a new one, but it also reads too much higher than my arm cuff unit. I will only use it in an emergency and will subtract 10-20 points from the BP values. (Also if the battery expires, you lose all the readings and settings.)

"Check BP anywhere" 2008-08-17
By Bill (SD)
Product works as advertised and you'd expect. Simple and very easy to use. One thing to keep in mind when using it; make sure you follow instructions carefully on placement of the cuff. If it's below your heart it'll read out high and cause needless concern. I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to monitor their blood pressure any time and any where.

"Great medical device" 2010-05-12

This product has proven very satisfactory. It enbles you to track blood pressure and average out your results. A very good tool for those with fluctuating blood pressure. The wireless feature has a limited range so device must be used near computer.

"Works Great for single user" 2009-11-04
By Kevin E. Kujawa (San Diego, CA USA)
I use this device and the wirless scale on a daily basis. Once the software is downloaded (which is how most software is delvered these days) results are automatically captured for viewing on your computer. I found that using the devices in conjunction with the software gave me the ability to better manage my health.

"Previous reviews of this product" 2009-09-13
By Carolyn Mercer (California)
I had ordered this product from Amazon and when I went back to the LifeSouce web site to download the FREE program that goes with it I found that it will NOT work with a Vista OS, anyother OS would be fine. I was unable to purchase this item due to the fact that I have a Vista OS. I wrote to LifeSource and they were unsure when a new program will become available for a Vista OS.I currently have a LifeSource B/P system but wanted to upgrade to this new one that will keep track of my B/P on my computer, so as far as rating LifeSource products I have to be fair and give it 5 stars.LifeSource UA-851THW Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor. The reviews given for the product may be totally inaccurate as far as the product is concerned. Any electronic B/P monitoring system is GENERALLY for one person only and usually for adults unless you special order a pediatric cuff or you need a larger cuff. The readings are automatically entered into the memory, so giving this product a 1 star is not a fair rating on the item itself.
Hint: if you use a larger cuff on a smaller arm (such as a very small boned person or child) it will give you a higher reading, thus a false reading. If you use a small or regular size cuff on a person that is large it will give you a lower reading, thus a false reading. So, if you are going to purchase an electronic B/P monitoring system or non-electronic B/P system make sure that you also obtain the right size cuff for the person that you need to use it on.
I hope that this information is helpful to you.

"Regrettable Purchase" 2009-02-07
By D. Blackmon
This is a one person device, if that is all you're looking for then it will meet your needs, but if you want to use it for the family/wife/husband then you have to purchase one for each user. Not worth the cost. I just wish somone had submitted a review like this before I purchased and I wouldn't have bought this item.

"Worthless for a family" 2009-01-31
By Zoran Dzeletovic (Chicago, IL)
LifeSource UA-851THW Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor
Pros:
- For a single user, software and device work great
Cons:
- Software is not included in the box, and it needs to be downloaded.
- Once installed, software has limitations and the limitations are not printed either on the box or in the attached 19 pages manual.
- Customer support does not work on weekends.
- For four family members, you need to buy four blood pressure monitors. Once you try to create a second user in the software, and to enter the blood pressure monitor serial #, you get prompted with: "Please remember that each device can only be registered to one account. If a device is registered to another account you will need to remove it from that account before adding it to a new account".
I'm going to return mine.

"Disappointed with xl cuff" 2008-09-03

"to many error codes" 2007-05-03
By VMAX (FLORIDA)
i received this 24 hrs ago and half of the time i get error codes. i called customer service ( very friendly & helpful )and they informed me that they have had this problem before and recommended that i try it on my forearm due to the size of my arm. this worked a few time but if i checked after i was active it gave me a code 7&9m most of the time i got a code 3. in the book it gives code 3-5 as something wrong with the cuff and code 7-12 as something about being calm. that right only 2 errors with 9 codes. also didn't like this "D" ring to make it easier to put on, it makes the cuff fold over no it self. this my work for some people but not me! PS I HAVE AN 18 1/2" ARM

"Zewa MFM-007XL Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor" 2007-01-09
By Wayne L. McGillivray (Chico, CA)
I needed this item for monitoring my blood pressure. It was easy, but the cuff is very hard to put on for one person. I have an error on the first time I try to take my blood pressure, then I re-wrap the cuff and it works the next time. The cuff is very, very accurate. I took my blood pressure, and the doctor took my blood pressure (his way) and the difference is so small the doctor told me that my blood pressure monitor is more accurate than his method.

"Finally found a cuff that fits" 2006-11-06
By Erin Angelico (Dallas Texas United States)
Due to illness I have gained weight and finding a blood pressure cuff with a Automatic machine was a chore. This is the ONLY one I could find. It took a few tries to get the cuff positioned correctly but it is an easy machine to use. It saves your history and gives you an average. It can also be used by 2 people. I would buy this again.

"Works great every time" 2010-08-11

Just moved out of a stressful job that had my BP significantly higher than my normal. Exercising and eating better now too so I bought the Auto Inflate BP Monitor to track my progress and practice lowering my pulse and BP by concentration. Wonderful tool. Easy to strap on my arm and use. Highly recommend. Good price, fast delivery, excellent value.

"Not Thrilled" 2010-03-20
By chuckiesmom (Midwest)
Bought this for my mother (she has congestive heart failure/high blood pressure) to replace the old one. When compared with the cuff at the doctor's office, it was 25 points higher on the systolic and 8 points lower on the diastolic readings. Hoped we'd get something more accurate than this.

"Muy bueno y preciso" 2009-05-12
By R. Reyes (Dominican Rep.)

"Excellent Product" 2010-09-11
By Kat
I brought this BP monitor on the advise of another reviewer on a different wrist monitor. Product came early in the mail, packed well. Needs 2 - "AAA's" so I had to steal from one of the remotes. Easy to work with and understand. Tried it on me then my husband. Regular manual is very hard to read as the print is way too small, but it does come with a short, quick picture diagram so you can figure out how to use it, set-up date/time and memory. Has two 60 day memory buttons. I would suggested this product from anyone looking for a good BP monitor. A+++

90% accurate so far. easy to use, and very handy. Can be quite sensitive and not always able to pick up very low BPs and irregular heart rates (in those cases i just use the manual devices). Good for the money and can be very useful for home monitoring.

"Not a good buy." 2010-08-31
By mickey dawson annan
Package arrived earlier than expected. That was the last good news! The "Mark of Fitness MF-87" did not live up to the hype. From the onset it would not inflate fully. Thought it was my batteries. Replaced with brand new Duracell Ultra. Got a couple of readings. Then it began to display "Error -2" error code (manual said it was a malfunctioned cuff). I hoped desperately that was not the case. Left it alone till next day. Same result. Left it alone for 2 more days. Same results: "Error -2". Finally gave up. Returning it for a refund. I have ordered the "OMRON HEM 790IT". It's pricier but has great reviews (4.5/5 from over 400 users) and comes with software disc that will help you upload blood pressure data to your computer, print graphs for your doctor, etc. Contemplated ordering the "OMRON HEM 670IT" but finally settled for the 790IT.

"Mark of Fitness MF-87 Automatic Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor" 2010-08-16
By Toobie (USA)
I really like this monitor. It works just fine for me. It uses 2 AAA batteries to work. It has a on and off button so you do not waste the battery. It has a memory that would keep for 2 people. It also has a guide on the right side that shows you that your arm is "OK" in the position it is in. If you do not see OK then it is not in the right location. It keeps the time for you and holds many of your past pressure readings. I would recommend this cuff to everyone. Also this cuff comes with a hard plastic storage case.

The Dot Matrix Digital Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with Memory is a fully automatic wrist unit featuring easy-to-use, one-button operation with on-screen graphics and instructions in five languages. The animated on-screen graphics guide you through the measurement process step by step. Takes faster than average readings when compared to typical automatic inflation wrist monitors. The pressure readings can be viewed in three different recall modes (Memory Recall, Memory List, Memory Graph). Includes detailed operating instructions in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish, two AAA batteries, storage case and a lifetime limited warranty. Fits wrist circumference 4-7/8" - 8-1/16".

Amazon.com Review

Capable of storing 60 readings by date and time, this battery- operated device makes it easy to monitor both blood pressure and pulse and to track trends over time. Two people can make use of the monitor's memory, with up to 30 past readings stored for each and displayed either as a chronological list or a graph. Or one person can use both memory banks to save past morning and evening readings. The large digital display (1-5/8 by 1-1/4 inches) is easy to read, showing systolic, diastolic, and pulse readings when the cuff is strapped on and automatically inflated by pressing the monitor's power button. When the measurement is complete, the cuff (fits wrists from 4-7/8 to 8-1/16 inches) automatically deflates. The monitor can be turned off manually, or it automatically shuts off in 30 seconds to preserve the two AAA batteries (included) operating the device.On-screen instructions (in English, Spanish, French, German, or Italian) guide a user through the process. A menu button selects from a list of six features: memory select (for choosing between the two memory banks), preset pressure (for adjusting cuff pressure), memory clear (for deleting a stored reading), language, clock set, and contrast (of the screen face). Another button permits scrolling through stored readings, displaying their average, or viewing the chronological list or graph. The monitor comes in a sturdy plastic storage case, is accompanied by a detailed instruction booklet, and carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

"The best one I have purchased" 2010-04-11
By andiesenji (SoCal,USA)
I have purchased several instruments of this type and this is by far the most accurate, the easiest to read and is very comfortable. I have compared the results with the standard arm cuff monitor and this one produces identical results. It is easy to set up and very easy to use.

"B/P Cuff" 2007-01-28
By Debra L. Love (WPB, FL)
Easy to use and as accurate as an 'old fashioned' cuff. This was a reorder for me, my 1st one checked my client B/P's (about 25/day) for over a year. The only reason I had to purchase another was because the door that holds in the batteries fell off and got steped on. Doesn't look so professional with scotch tape, but still worked as well!!!!

"A lot of bang for the buck - tons of features, great display" 2004-02-04
By
I just bought this after being worried that my resting heartrate was too fast. Turns out I am doing just fine. But with this unit I will take my blood pressure everyday and then look at my on screen graph after up to 30 days and see how it looks over time.
I was happily suprised at the quality of the unit. 4 simple buttons (any one of which will activate the appropriate feature from the off condition) make it easy to operate and figure out. It comes with batteries - a nice touch - and a study case with a clear cover. Here are three levels of help in the included documentation. A Get Started sheet, a FAQ fold out, and a thorough booklet (in 4 languages) with the important details.
On screen instructions help you through the process of actually getting your BP. You get systolic and diatolic (most only give you the former) as well as pulse readings. The on screen graph is unique to this unit and especially in this price range.
...
Bottom line: I am very happy with the purchase. The only other one I would purchase is the one at Wal-Mart that comes with a printer to give you a hard copy graph of your readings over time. But it costs $89.99 and gives you more components to worry about.

Product By LifeSource(14 customers reviews)
Lowest Price : $44.34

Product Description

The UA-767PV Plus Auto-Inflation monitor incorporates the latest technology for accurate measurements at home. The advanced features of this monitor inflates to the correct pressure each time a measurement is taken. The monitor stores the last 30 readings in memory and also displays average readings. The average reading feature automatically calculates the "average" of the total readings stored in memory. It has been clinically validated for accuracy (+/- 3mmHg and Pulse +/- 5%), so you can be confident that your readings are consistently correct. The measurement range is 20 mmHg to 280 mmHg and Pulse: 40 to 200 pulses/minute. Also included is an Irregular Heartbeat Feature that alerts the user and provides an accurate measurement even when an irregular heartbeat occurs. The UA-767PV can assist in the management of hypertension, improve patient compliance to treatment of high blood pressure, and be used as a tool in a preventative health management program. To obtain an accurate reading, it is important to use the correct cuff size. A cuff that is too small will result in a higher than expected reading and a cuff that is too large will result in a lower than expected reading. The UA-767PV includes a medium arm cuff size which has a range of 9.4" to 14.2". Also included are a trilingual instruction manual, quick start card, four week blood pressure logbook and warranty card. "10 years and still going" 2010-05-15

I have used this monitor for over 10 years. It is extremely easy to use and is very accurate. I'm ordering a new one today; my old monitor is still working perfectly but after 10 years it "might" go out soon!

"Highly Recommend" 2010-05-09

I've used a monitor just like this one (just older) for the past 3 years. It is always right on spot. I purchased this one to take to my son to use. I highly recommend it. It's used by every patient in a medical study that I'm participating in.

"Monitor is so-so, but no case to store it in." 2010-05-03
By Live Big
I bought it partly because my office mate had one and her's came with a nice case. Mine is now being stored in a the cardboard box it came in, which will no doubt get destroyed with time. That said, the monitor is easy to use, but I get different results if I test myself several times in a row. Sometimes they are fairly big differences, although usually somewhat close. I'm not sure if that's normal or not.

"Well made, but a pain to use" 2010-04-01
By Erik Lie Nielsen (Alaska)
PROS: 1: Although made in China, this unit appears to be very well-made;
2: The price is attractive compared to the competition;
3: The small size should make it attractive for use by joggers, walkers, etc. However, due to its drawbacks, I almost sent it back (see below). In fairness, the seller readily offered to take it back for a full credit (less my return shipping), but since I really wanted a truly portable unit I have reluctantly decided to keep it in spite of its limitations.
CONS: 1: My monitor is extremely sensitive to vertical location relative to the heart. It can give widely varying (40-80% different) BP readings when changing its vertical position by only an inch or two - likely a function of a less reliable input at the wrist location. Pulse readings seem accurate. For consistent readings, I `calibrated' the unit against a larger fixed unit to determine the precise elevation for BP accuracy, then must try to reproduce that each time for my use, a real pain.
2: My unit takes one full minute to provide a read-out, which is two or three times as long as a fixed unit, and very unhandy for road work - my main reason for buying the unit.
SUMMARY: Although I will keep my unit I can not in fairness recommend it to anyone else.

"wrist blood Pressure Monitor" 2009-10-17
By Veronika N. Cheban (Seattle, Wa USA)
this is the easiest blood pressure monitor I ever seen; it works excellent- easy to read, even counts your pulse which for me is a huge thing because I am a Nurse Assistant and is very hard to find a pulse especially in old people, just push a button and you are done. I would recommend to all my friends and family especially if they work in a health care field.

"Very Reliable" 2008-03-20

This device has been quite reliable and consistent. You do have to follow the instructions carefully to get an accurate reading.

"Inconsistent readings" 2008-01-12
By MAG (USA)
I borrowed this from a friend after being diagnosed with high blood pressure. The readings are consistently inconsistent and ranged from normal to high. Thankfully, I got to try this out before I purchased, because it would have been a waste of money. When monitoring BP, you need to know where things are at, not that just that you have a blood pressure!
